Community Rules
Last updated: May 4, 2026
These Community Rules ("Rules") govern conduct within all Straw community spaces, including discussion posts, comments, reactions, direct messages between members, and all other interactive features of the Services operated by Liters Inc. ("Company," "we," or "us"). These Rules apply across all platforms where Straw is available, including our iOS application, Android application, and the web application at straw.community.
These Rules are incorporated by reference into and form part of the Terms of Service. Capitalized terms not defined herein have the meanings given in the Terms of Service.
Straw exists to give plasma donors a space of their own — a community and network built by donors, for donors, free of advertising, center marketing, and outside agendas. These Rules exist to protect that space.
1. CORE PRINCIPLES
Every Rule in this document flows from three principles. When in doubt, return to these:
Be real. Share your actual experience. Don't represent yourself, your content, or your affiliations dishonestly.
Be useful. Contribute information that helps other donors. This community gets better when every member adds more than they take.
Be respectful. You will not agree with every member on every topic. Disagree with ideas; don't attack people.
2. CONTENT STANDARDS
2.1 Permitted Content
Members are encouraged to post:
Personal experiences with plasma donation, including donation visits, deferral experiences, center experiences, and health-related personal accounts
Honest reviews of donation centers based on genuine personal experience
Questions about donation processes, earnings strategies, or community resources
Discussion of pay rates, bonuses, promotions, and compensation experiences from your own donation history
References to specific plasma chains and centers in the context of your personal experiences
Constructive feedback about Straw and the Services
Celebration posts about donation milestones and personal achievements
2.2 Prohibited Content
The following content is strictly prohibited and will be removed without notice:
Medical advice, diagnosis, or treatment recommendations. Members may share personal experiences and what their healthcare providers told them; members may not tell other members what they should do medically. Phrases such as "you should take," "this will fix," or "just ignore the deferral" are prohibited.
Eligibility determinations on behalf of other donors. Plasma donation eligibility is determined by center medical personnel at each donor's donation center. Members may not tell other members whether they are or are not eligible to donate.
Defamatory or knowingly false statements about specific plasma centers, chains, employees, or industry organizations. Members may share genuine personal experiences with named chains and centers — what happened to them and what they observed. Members may not make sweeping defamatory generalizations, allegations of illegal activity without basis, or false statements presented as fact.
Commercial solicitation, affiliate links, referral codes shared for personal financial gain, spam, or promotional content for products or services not expressly approved by the Company
Content that is defamatory, harassing, threatening, discriminatory, or abusive toward any individual or group
Content that discloses private information about other individuals without their consent, including medical information, contact information, or identifying details about other donors or center employees
Misinformation about plasma donation, donor health, or industry practices that could cause harm to other donors
Content that violates any applicable law or regulation
Content that infringes any intellectual property right of any third party
Explicit sexual content or graphic violence
Content designed to manipulate, deceive, or defraud other members
Off-topic content posted in spaces with designated purposes
3. CONDUCT STANDARDS
3.1 Respectful Engagement
Members are expected to engage with one another respectfully, even in disagreement. Personal attacks, insults, targeted harassment, or sustained negative engagement directed at another member are prohibited. Criticism of ideas, posts, or information is permitted; criticism of persons is not.
3.2 Direct Messages
Direct messages between members are subject to these Rules. Members are expected to maintain respectful, on-topic engagement in private conversations. Prohibited content in public spaces is also prohibited in direct messages.
Members who receive unwanted, harassing, or rule-violating direct messages are encouraged to report them through the in-app reporting features or by contacting info@liters.xyz.
The Company does not routinely monitor direct messages but reserves the right to review reported messages to investigate violations of these Rules. Direct messages are subject to the data practices described in the Privacy Policy.
3.3 Discussion of Specific Chains and Centers
Members may discuss specific plasma chains and donation centers by name in the context of their personal experiences. This includes naming the chain, naming specific center locations, sharing what happened during visits, and describing how a center operates based on direct experience.
What is permitted:
"The BioLife on Main Street has been running long wait times lately"
"My experience at the CSL near me has been good"
"I was deferred at Octapharma last week — here's what they told me"
Personal reviews, observations, and experiences with named chains
What is prohibited:
Sweeping defamatory generalizations about chains, employees, or the industry
Allegations of illegal activity without genuine basis
Statements presented as fact that the member knows or should know are false
Claims that misrepresent another member's experience
The standard is straightforward: share your experience honestly. The community benefits from real information shared in good faith. The community is harmed by content that misrepresents reality.
3.4 Pay Rate and Compensation Discussions
Members may freely share their personal pay rates, bonus amounts, promotional offers received, and compensation experiences. There is no restriction on donors discussing their own income from donation.
When sharing this information, members should:
Be accurate about their own experience
Note when information is current versus historical (pay rates change)
Distinguish between personal experience and what others told them
Avoid presenting personal experience as universal — pay can vary by location, donor history, time, and individual circumstances
3.5 Conflicts of Interest
Members who have a material relationship with a plasma donation center, chain, or related commercial entity — including employees, contractors, brand ambassadors, or paid partners — must disclose that relationship when posting content related to that entity. Undisclosed conflicts of interest constitute a violation of these Rules.
3.6 No Impersonation
Members may not impersonate any other person, including Company staff, moderators, other members, plasma center employees, healthcare professionals, or any other identity. Members may not create false impressions about their identity, expertise, or affiliations.
3.7 Constructive Disagreement
Disagreement is welcome. Members who disagree with information posted by another member are encouraged to provide their own experience or a factual correction, not to attack the posting member. The standard is: challenge the content, not the person.
4. CONTENT, AI, AND DATA USE
By posting content in Straw community spaces, you agree that your content is subject to the licensing and use terms set forth in the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy. This includes:
Your retention of ownership over content you post
The Company's limited license to use your content to operate and improve the Services
The use of aggregated and de-identified content for AI training and product improvement
Protection of your individual identifiable content from being used in AI training without your explicit consent
Members are encouraged to review the Privacy Policy and Terms of Service for full details on how content is handled.
5. ENFORCEMENT
5.1 Enforcement Philosophy
The Company's approach to enforcement is proportionate and, where appropriate, corrective rather than punitive. The goal is to maintain a space that is useful and safe for all members, not to punish individuals. However, certain violations warrant immediate action without prior warning.
5.2 Enforcement Actions
Violations of these Rules may result in any of the following actions at the Company's sole discretion:
Informal notice: A private message from Company staff noting the violation and requesting correction
Content removal: Removal of the violating post, comment, message, or other content
Content editing: Modification of violating content where a partial correction is appropriate
Temporary suspension: Loss of posting privileges for a defined period
Permanent ban: Permanent termination of membership and access to the Services
5.3 Immediate Termination Offenses
The following violations will result in immediate permanent ban without prior warning:
Posting content that constitutes medical advice presented as professional guidance
Targeted harassment, threats, or intimidation of any member
Fraudulent activity, including fabricated reviews or deliberate misinformation designed to harm other members financially
Any illegal activity conducted through or facilitated by the Services
Creating multiple accounts to evade a prior suspension or ban
Sharing private information about other members or third parties without consent
Sustained defamatory content targeting specific individuals or organizations
5.4 Appeals
Members who believe an enforcement action was taken in error may submit an appeal to info@liters.xyz within fourteen (14) days of the action. Appeals must include a clear explanation of why the action was unwarranted. The Company will review appeals in good faith and respond within fourteen (14) days. The Company's decision on appeal is final.
5.5 Reporting
Members are encouraged to report content that may violate these Rules using the in-app reporting features or by contacting info@liters.xyz. Reports are reviewed by Company staff. The Company does not guarantee action on every report and will not disclose the outcome of moderation decisions to reporting members.
6. SPACE-SPECIFIC RULES
Specific community spaces within Straw may have additional rules that apply alongside these general Rules. Space-specific rules will be posted within or near each affected space. Where a space-specific rule appears to conflict with these general Rules, the more restrictive rule applies.
The Company reserves the right to add, modify, or remove community spaces as Straw evolves. Updates to space-specific rules will be communicated through the Services.
7. MEMBER RESPONSIBILITY
Each member is individually responsible for their conduct in the community. The Company is not responsible for the content, accuracy, or reliability of User Content posted by members. The Company's moderation activities do not create an obligation to monitor all content or guarantee that all violating content will be identified and removed.
Members acknowledge that the health and quality of this community depends on each member's individual commitment to these Rules. Straw works because donors choose to make it work.
8. MODIFICATIONS TO COMMUNITY RULES
The Company reserves the right to modify these Rules at any time. Material modifications will be communicated by email, by in-app notice, or by prominent notice within the Services. Continued participation in the community after the effective date of any modification constitutes acceptance of the revised Rules.
